1 month from today!

Hello! So, this is my first post. I've decided to start a blog while spending the semester in London, so that all of my family and friends can keep up with me while I'm away. If no one is reading this, then I guess I am doing this so that I don't forget every experience that I have while studying abroad. So, here is the inaugural post!

Here is our "silly" team photo from this past season. A few standouts: Maureen McCoy (7) and Dani on the left, front row. Also, don't miss Leslie and Khalshia in the middle of the back row.
One month from today, I will be making the treacherous 7 hour flight from JFK to Heathrow, with my teammates Danielle, Leslie, and Liz. I can't believe how quickly this summer has gone by, and how soon we will all be going overseas. To be honest, as excited as I am, I'm also very nervous and anxious to go. I know its going to be an amazing experience, but it is still a little scary going overseas to study and live with a British family. For those of you who don't know, St. Lawrence's program requires that each student live with a host family, so that we can truly experience British culture. To be honest, I think its a great way to learn about British culture, and how different it is from Canadian and American home life. I can't wait to meet my family! I'm also really happy to be going with Dani, Leslie, and Liz. It's crazy that we have been talking about this trip since February and now it is just around the corner.

That's all I really have for the first post. I know it's not much, but that's because I haven't gone anywhere just yet. But, I am still trying to make a list of all the places I want to travel while abroad, so if you have any ideas or suggestions as to where I should go, please share them here. I think to end my posts, I will leave you all with a quote from a movie, t.v show, or book that I find funny or insightful. Today, I go with funny:

From one of my favorite movies, Anchorman:

Champ Kind: What in the hell's diversity?
Ron Burgundy: Well, I could be wrong, but I believe diversity is an old, old wooden ship that was used during the Civil War era.
I'm not sure if this is the approach to diversity I should have while in London. More gems to come. You stay classy, all the people reading this.
